Around Athens

So recently I've taken some more fun pictures around Athens and I thought my blog would be a good place to share them!

"HallOUween" is a big deal here at Ohio University so I shot some of my friends and housemates getting ready for the big night.

Animal ears, fake blood, and all.

The rest of what I have to share are just fun moments around Athens (as the title suggests).

It Takes Two to F-Word

So this past Friday night I went to the f-word production of It Takes Two to F-Word. The event was held at Donkey Coffee in Athens, OH, on November 9, 2012. Before the show, Much Much More, a local ukelele band played one of their songs to start off the night. Then the actresses began their series of monologues written by the performers themselves.

Mr. President

So to my shock and pure excitement, President Barack Obama visited Ohio University Wednesday evening. The President was joined by Ted Strickland and 14,000 of his closest friends. The event was announced the Friday before, and tickets were given out all day Sunday. Gearing up for the event, College Green was cleared early Tuesday and gates and trashcans began popping up all over the place! The secret service and military style helicopters were seen the days leading up to the huge event and Athens was in a frenzy. The lines started forming all over Ohio University early Wednesday morning, some students began lining up as early as 9am. I have not felt more excited to be a bobcat than I did waiting around in lines all day listening to far off chants of "four more years" and "fired up, ready to go!"

The best part of the speech, at least in my opinion, was President Obama's response to the occasional booing in the crowd whenever Romney's name was mentioned. "Don't boo, GO VOTE!" he would say, quickly silencing the crowd. There's no better way to counteract the negativity of election season than to voice your opinion at the polls.

President Obama speaks at Ohio University on Wednesday, October 17, 2012.

Now, whatever your political opinion may be, GO VOTE!
